Stewart's areas of special interest include Far East clients and
UK property development projects for non-UK domiciled clients.
Stewart qualified as a Chartered Accountant in England in 1974
and moved to Jersey in 1977 to join the accountancy practice of
Turquands Barton Mayhew which, through a number of mergers became,
Ernst & Young. He was made a partner in 1983 specialising in
audit and advisory services to financial service companies. In 1994
Stewart transferred from the audit practice to Ernst & Young's
wholly owned Jersey trust company and was appointed partner in
charge of the corporate department with special responsibility for
advising clients in the Far East.
Ernst & Young's trust company was acquired by Royal Bank of
Canada in 2000 and Stewart was appointed as a Director of
Royal Bank of Canada (Trust Company) Jersey Ltd. Stewart and his
team joined Andium Trust Company Limited in 2004. Stewart continues
to specialise in advising Far East clients and travels to the
region on a regular basis.
Stewart is married with two grown-up children and has a keen
interest motor racing.
